Why Funny Face?

My husband can't figure out why I call my blog Funny Face. (Granted, it will probably change once or twice as my blog changes over time.) I felt explaining it would be helpful for you and me!

First off, a person I admire and who is more than just a style icon to me, is Audrey Hepburn. She was  graceful and elegant. She accomplished that in a seemingly effortless manner. Over the past several years I have tried to emulate that in my own way. I by no means idolize her, however admire who she was.

As of late, my favorite film of hers is Funny Face. I love the colors, the songs, the fashion, and her character, Jo, a studied book-worm who feels fashion is not worth her time.

Anyways, the other reason I chose the name is in regards to my own insecurities and trying to accept myself, all the good and the bad. I struggle with this daily. Being an introvert through and through, I can feel insecure about who I am in many social settings (i.e. school, parties, church). (Currently, I am waiting to receive this book in the mail. It was recommend to me by another introvert who said she felt validated after reading it. Have you read it?) Also, like most woman, I have days where I feel confident and appealing, and other days where I feel as if I have a "funny face." My face is very round, my nose sticks out too far, my hair is frizzy, my shoulders are too wide, and on and on it can go.

Through this blog I want to document my life, share the beautiful (and the ugly), and create a place that is inspiring for me. A place where I can continue to grow and become the best version of myself. Maybe through that you will find inspiration and the confidence to be who you are as well.
