That Time When My Blog Was Viewed By Sites That Shall Not Be Named

So, you want to know what I found out?
When you have a blog, you can see stats about how many "views" your blog gets on a daily, weekly, etc basis. I haven't promoted my blog much except for putting on my home page on pinterest. I don't expect to get a million readers or views. I don't really comment on other blogs at this point. I just don't have the time or motivation to do that right now. Right now I am content just having this blog basically for me. I of course wouldn't mind having regular readers.

Anyways, sad story even sadder and longer. I find that in the past day I have been viewed by a certain web address, which I will not name here, 19 times! That seems awesome! At this point I'm thinkin' I don't even have to do anything and people are just FLOCKING to my blog, right? So, I click on the web address. And all of a sudden these GIANT boobs are greeting me. My brain completely froze. I think my heart stopped for a millisecond. It was like Harry had said the name of he who shall not be named. My fingers knew what to do, though and I quickly closed the page.
After the shock wore off, I google how to block websites from viewing/referring your page.

And here is what I find on this site.

Nobody is actually viewing your blog from these sites - and nobody knows about these links but you, since only you can see your Stats logs.

There are no actual links to your blog, from these websites - nor is your blog content being read, from anybody's computer. Neither your blog's page rank nor reputation is affected, one way or the other, by referer spam.

I'm thinkin', okaaayyyy, so there is nothing I can do. 

Stop clicking on the links in your stats logs. That's the only way to make referer spam stop.

Alright, I can do that. And then I read this -

Concentrate on publishing your blog, and getting legitimate traffic - and the referer spam will not be an important issue.

So, there IS something I can do about it. I can get legitimate traffic! Thanks a lot google forum guy. You just completely burst my ignorant bubble of bliss.

So what am I going to do about this? How am I going to get legitimate traffic without really trying too hard?

I'm toying with the idea of making an announcement like this or this. Seriously, who doesn't love a baby having blogger? I definitely think that is a legitimate reason to bring life into the world. I'll get a legitimate baby, post a legitimate announcement on this blog, and then get legitimate traffic.

Sounds legitimate to me.
