That Time I Ate Mac & Cheese

Story background: About every medication I am taking has a possible side affect of weight gain.

After eating half a Stouffer's macaroni and cheese right out of the oven.

Me: "This medication is making me fat."

Me: "Ugh, I feel like I have gained like 10 pounds."

Guy: As he looks at my bowl of macaroni and cheese is like, "Maybe you should exercise more."

Me: And I'm over here like, "Don't you even say it. It is definitely the meds and not the fact that I exercise one to one times a week."

The End

OMG!

I totally missed my one year blogaversary on April 18. I feel like such a failure.

That right tharrr is prime blogging material. It gives everyone a chance to reflect on all the things I have written about over the past year. I would also be able to tell you about where I see this blog going. How I have grown as an individual and blogger. I could say things like, "This blog started as a simple, private way for my to share me thoughts, but it has turned into a wonderful community of real friends and opportunities!"

But really. When I think of all the things that have happened in a year. Some I knew were coming, some I hoped were coming, some I hoped weren't coming, and some I had no idea were coming (perfect spot for an announcement of any sort...).

Guy and I moved twice.
Guy quit one job.
Guy got his dream job.
I dyed my hair brown.
I tried to dye my hair back to blonde.
I graduated with my Masters in Occupational Therapy.
We upgraded to a king size bed. (Best decision of our marriage so far)
Beau got a backyard.
I lost weight.
I gained weight.
I started backcombing. (lifechanging!)

So cheers to me and my life! I'll continue to blog as long as those spam sites "view" my blog and give me lots of fake self-esteem about my blogger status.

Now excuse me while I go convince Guy that I need a tasty treat to eat, but also to post on instagram for everyone to celebrate my #blogaversary

Favorite Recipe

This is an Annelise and Rebecca original. I can't remember exactly who came up with this first, but we both have enjoyed it throughout our childhood. I recently resurrected this snack and have had it multiple times this week.

We like to call it, "Melted String Cheese."

You will need a plate (paper or not), mozzarella string cheese, and a microwave.

Remove the string cheese and place it on the plate. Put the plate in the microwave. I would recommend 1 minute to 1 minute 15 seconds on a paper plate and 1 minute 15 seconds to 1 minute 30 seconds on a glass or ceramic plate.

Your string cheese will look something like this. This is borderline too cooked for me.

After you remove the string cheese from the microwave immediately use a fork to pry the cheese from the plate. If you let it sit it can be virtually impossible to get off the plate.

And enjoy! Probably the easiest thing to make besides a cup of water!

Please, feel free to pin this recipe!

P.S. While this post may be laced with sarcasm, I actually do LOVE melted string cheese.

P.P.S. This is the coffee table after three coats of stain. I'm still not 100% satisfied with the color.

Weekend Update

I got to stay home today. Thank you president's for giving everyone an excuse to take a day off. Truth be told - I think my clinical instructors needed a break.

I don't blame them. I needed need one too.

Guy and I went to Safeway today. Seriously, I don't know if all Safeways are this way, but I may or may not have said an expletive in my head while trying to navigate that store.

They put the butter in the beer aisle, which might I add, is not where the rest of the dairy products are. That offense may or may not have been where I said something along the lines of, "Who the blankety blank puts their butter by the beer in an aisle called 'snack time'?"
Their aisles are small, so you're bumping into everyone.
I "forgot" to bring our save the earth grocery bags.
And since our Safeway is in St. Helena, everyone is hoity-toity (that's a real term - Google it).

Anyways, that's all I've got.
We went to Angel's Camp this weekend to visit my dad's parents.
I'm sure I'll show you those pictures and numerous others some other day.

Hide Yo Kids

I am so sorry that I have not shared this with you sooner.

Guy made this. I do not remember why we were dressing Beau up like a thug. We dress up Beau a lot, though. When we saw the photo below we immediately thought of Antoine from a new story blooper. We thought Beau looked especially cray-cray.

Not sure what we're referencing here? Watch this and then this and it just keeps going.
